Our Motto:

Saving Technology for Future Generations.

Our Objects:

The Technology Museum of Western Australia is moving through the steps necessary to collect, restore and store, culturally important technical artefacts and information in order to build a physical and online museum which is accessible to the general public.

Our Mission:

The mission of the Technology Museum of Western Australia is to educate the public through the preservation, maintenance, and display of old and new technology artefacts and the continuing benefits of technology to our culture.

Our Focus:

The Technology Museum of WA Inc. will provide a unique focus on learning activities which specialise in the history, progress and the future of technology and its impact on our current culture. A combination of Interactive displays, dioramas and knowledge-based immersions will be used to educate the public in a world class museum setting. The Museum will be open to the general public on set hours and also provide special after hour tours to groups. A reference library will be available for physical inspections and also as an online resource.

Volunteers, with specialisations in their respective fields, will be available for one-on-one knowledge transfers to the general public.

The Museum, as a physical and online resource will have a unique place in the diverse museum culture of Western Australia as it will provide 24/7 technology research facilities for primary, high school and university students. The Museum will help them acquire information which will be used in their day-to-day school studies. Teachers will be able to download study materials and sample tests from the Museum’s online database. Most of this information will be provided free of charge to both students and teachers. The information will be verified by specialist volunteers and undated on a daily basis.

The Technology Museum of WA Inc will be unique in that it will specialise in telling the story of the technological history, progress and future of computers, data systems, photography, theatre production, television production, aviation electronics, mining systems, telephone, radio, astronomy and other technologies. No museum in Australia has taken on these technological subjects as their main focus. The Museum will be a one-stop-shop for everything to do with technology and will show a unique perspective on how technology has changed the culture of our society and its world view.
